Chris Bennett – NCUSC Technical Advisor

A former Canadian international and an original member of the Vancouver Whitecaps, Chris Bennett has over twenty years of coaching experience, with many years at the international level. He spent 12 years as a coach with the Canadian Soccer Association, including three years as National U-20 Boy’s Assistant Head Coach (1998-2000), and 11 years as a coach at the CSA High Performance Centre at Simon Fraser University (1988-1999).
A striker in his playing days, Bennett earned nine caps with the Canadian National Team from 1973 to 1975, scoring twice. He spent time with famed English club Chelsea in 1970-71 and played several years in the North American Soccer League, starting with the Vancouver Whitecaps in 1974. Chris Bennett led the Whitecaps Women to the 2004 W-League Championship, which earned him a place in the BC Sports Hall of Fame. Chris remained with the Whitecaps organization in 2005 becoming the Head Coach of the new Whitecaps Men’s Reserve Team.
